Forgotten Warriors Initiative
For anyone who answered a call to serve and was abandoned, ignored, retaliated against, or forgotten by the systems that should have protected them.
The Forgotten Warriors Initiative is CFW’s foundational response for people who have fallen through the cracks of the institutions they served — documenting abandonment, systemic failures, and barriers to recovery while coordinating advocacy, referrals, and accountability efforts. It’s the initiative most of CFW’s work traces back to.
Who this initiative supports:
- Veterans abandoned by the VA
- Active service members trapped in administrative limbo
- Government contractors stranded overseas
- Military families abandoned by agencies
- Whistleblowers destroyed after reporting misconduct
- Journalists targeted for exposing corruption
- First responders ignored after service-related injuries
- Public servants punished for doing the right thing
If you don’t see your exact situation listed — reach out anyway. This initiative exists because the system failed someone in a way no one had built a path for yet.
“They answered the call. The system’s job was to answer back. This initiative exists for every time it didn’t.”
How This Initiative Works
Five coordinated programs, built to meet someone wherever the system lost them.
Warrior Outreach & Recovery Intake
Identifies, locates, and makes first contact with persons who have become disconnected from support systems, family, and benefits.
Family Search & Re-connection Support
Assists families trying to reconnect with a loved one who has disappeared into homelessness, crisis, detention, or institutional abandonment — including veterans, service members, contractors, and whistleblowers who’ve gone silent under pressure or lost contact with support systems.
Crisis Stabilization Referrals
Coordinate referrals for housing, benefits, records recovery, healthcare, and emergency resources.
Health & Recovery Navigation
Connects veterans, service members, families, whistleblowers, and other supported communities with appropriate medical, behavioral health, recovery, disability, and crisis-support resources. CFW does not provide clinical treatment but helps individuals navigate complex systems and reach qualified providers.
Long Term Abandonment Documentation
Builds the record showing how individuals were failed by multiple systems simultaneously.
